Description of the Assessment:This assessment is used to evaluate candidates’ ability to develop a plan demonstrating theknowledge that promotes the success of every student by ensuring the management of theschool organization, operation, and resources through monitoring and evaluating the schoolmanagement and operational systems. The candidate develops a plan that demonstrates thecandidate’s ability to efficiently use human, fiscal, and technological resources in a schoolenvironment by promoting and protecting the welfare and safety of school students and staff.This plan developed by the candidate aligns with the school’s capacity for distributedleadership; and ensures that teacher and organizational time is focused to support highquality instruction and student learning. . The plan is presented to the Local school basedFaculty and University Supervisor.Alignment of Assessment with Standards:This assessment is aligned to the following ELCC standards: 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, and 3.5.Assessment DescriptionManagement of the Organization, Operations, Safety and ResourcesAssume you are a candidate for the position of an elementary school principal in yourdistrict. Prepare a 6-8 page scholarly report that you will submit to the school board that willdescribe your knowledge of the management of the school organization, operation, andresources. You should interview a principal or assistant principal, or directors of whom cancome from your district or one other than your own. Based upon your interview and readings,develop a narrative that will address the following sections listed. Support your narrativewith at least five (5) references.
