Can you think of any other sociological explanations of suicide that have not been mentioned in the slides?Sociology has its roots in the radical changes that happened in Europe during the Industrial Revolution. The lectures talks about some of the critical differences between traditional social order in the villages and the modern social order in the cities. Can you point out some other differences between the two that might have an impact on the way individuals’ live their lives?We have covered the founding fathers of sociology and the major perspectives inspired by their ideas. Which one these founders/perspectives would be most effective in understanding social life in the United States today?
