Similar to previous assignments, you will address how the text’s formal elements (such as imagery, meter, repetition, rhyme, and figurative language) affect the meaning of the work; but time time, you must also address how these formal elements, together with literary themes and narrative structure, employ or disrupt generic conventions. Example: Situating your analysis of the formal elements of the text within the context of the genre to which the text belongs.
