What is the identity and purpose of the human person?.

Throughout this course we have been exploring what Christians believe, the meaning on which they stand. One could call this the Catholic-Christian worldview. At the heart of this worldview is the understanding that reality has an objective meaning (which is “built in” and not made up by the individual) and that meaning is love. God is love, Christ is the full revelation of God’s love, the human person is made out of love to love God and others, the Church is the concrete, continuing presence of Christ (the full revelation of God’s love) on earth who makes God’s love and help tangibly present through her teaching and sacraments, and the “good life” is seeking to love God and others well. This love has a certain nature – it is good, true, and beautiful; it is self-sacrificing and generous; it seeks the genuine good of others and rejects all that is contrary to the nature and dignity of the human person.. This assignment is an opportunity to ponder what we have looked at together in this course at a personal level.
