A case in point is Martin Shkreli, the founder and CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals. This company looked for drugs that were actually out of patent yet had already been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. Theoretically, they were subject to competition from generic drugs, but because it can be costly for those generics to reach the market, Turing Pharmaceuticals had market power. In 2015, Shkreli increased the price of AIDS drug Daraprim from $13.50 to $750 per pill. While some generic drug manufacturers eventually responded by producing equivalent products, Turing Pharmaceuticals was able to keep prices high for a significant period of time before competitive pressure to lower prices was felt.” (Innovation + Equality)This is just information or evidence of market domination.
