What would you redact, remove, or add to your map? Would the scale of your map be different? Would the locations of things matter differently? Are there things on your map about your community or yourself that you are now seeing, feeling, interpreting or thinking about differently? If so, why or why not?

This assignment will respond to and elaborate on your original Mad Map from Assignment 1 including any new learnings from the course to date. I have attached some of the sources you can choose from and my first mad map. I used the website CANVA for my mad map Assignment Prompts: Now that you are thinking differently about madness and childhood, try to respond to the following questions: What is missing from your first map? How do you look differently at your first map? Mad should be visually appealing. Show your creative abilities! How would you represent your new learnings on your first map, or how would you visually / auditorily represent or write about it differently? What would you redact, remove, or add to your map? Would the scale of your map be different? Would the locations of things matter differently? Are there things on your map about your community or yourself that you are now seeing, feeling, interpreting or thinking about differently? If so, why or why not?
Format: You will be adding to or altering your first map either within the original format, or with an entirely new format, it’s up to you! Feel free to refer to the format section of assignment one for example ideas. As with the first assignment, make sure to include written descriptions or visual / audio representations that explain why these additions are being made. Try to relate these additions to specific class readings / materials. Include references to at least three class readings / materials (i.e. lectures, films, conversations, presentations, course music etc). Example: In your first assignment, you submitted a road map of Toronto that marked and described children’s mental health services such as the children’s unit at CAMH. However, now that you have learned about other supports such as (…), or a youth peer-led support groups, you can add these places to your map. You may also wish to add markers and descriptions for places that illustrate maddening things happening to children in your community, i.e. under housing, food insecurity, policing, and surveillance. Your map would also relate how you understand and imagine childhood differently now, i.e. concepts of childhood, madness, normativity, behavior, medication, etc. may now be illustrated on your map. (This is an example only – please come up with your own organizations and ideas)
