After reading Chapter 6, we realize how many issues a teacher deals with, in addition to day to day teaching. Read the articles on Gifted Education and the Benefits of Inclusion to give you some background on these 2 issues. Which of these issues do you connect with – or is there another issue that resonates with you? Perhaps one of these issues is something you have experienced in your own schooling or with a family member or friend. (For example, have you ever experienced a classroom where a special needs student was included? Do you have experience with an alternative school? Etc… ) Explain which issue you have a connection with and how you believe this will impact your teaching.
