Why do you think these claims are made?

Since 9/11 Islam has been systematically vilified by some groups and individuals in the U.S. Many of the characteristics of Islam they promote are listed in the Runnymeade declaration on Islamaphobia. They also take umbrage at Shari’a and use the word jihad to denigrate Islam. What I want you to do is write a short essay in response to these claims. Are they accurate?
