Essay Topic:Premise:One of the most frustrating aspects of paleoanthropology is the scarcity of fossil evidence necessary to elucidate evolutionary relationships between species. While we are aware of a number of fascinating primate species between ancient non-human primates and hominins, their relationship with living primate species (if any) remains unknown. (We know but for this project, you are playing a researcher that doesn’t know anything!) You want to know more about that, so you are going to do some research. Pick one ancient primate species (e.g. proconsul) or an ancient primate group (e.g. adapids) from the Eocene, Oligocene, or Miocene (all animals before the Eocene are still in debate).
