Write a critical analysis of your group’s performance in negotiating the peace agreement. What did you miss?

The end of term exercise is an intense Simulation Summit during which students will prepare for, negotiate, and reflect upon the challenge of constructing a workable EU-Russia-Ukraine Peace Treaty. In the two weeks leading up to the Sim Sum, students will be assigned a given policy brief group (e.g. EU Council, Gazprom, Ukrainian government). Each group will prepare an in-depth policy stance prior to 19th May, and then proceed to defend and explain their stance during the 2 hours of negotiations, which will conclude with the bare bones of a treaty. In the week after the Sim Sum, each student will then write a 1000-word reflection note reflecting on their and their group’s participation in the simulation game. This should include: •An assessment (an analysis, not a description) of how the negotiation unfolded, that articulates which aspects of your sides’ interests were prioritised within your group, how, and why, and with what outcome. •A critical analysis of your group’s performance in negotiating the peace agreement.
