In our session we got looked to identify the following and, it is an approach I suggested that you take with each of the Acts and that is, to identify the following: The Key Drivers: • Key figures involved in supporting/creating the Act and those in opposition • The context of the time – what circumstances were leading the government in this direction • What events may have occurred that also were a part of the impetus • What was the importance/significance? • Social Context Intentions/Ideology: • What did the Act intend to do and why – remember we talked about how no Act intends to come in and fail, intentions are significant in terms of identifying an attitude, maybe even a significant shift in attitude towards the issue • What was the importance/significance?
