PFP is also a key component of other buzz words: value-based purchasing and value-based care. It relates to paying differing amounts to providers whose quality scores differ, or, for providing care in a way that minimizes cost while not sacrificing quality . There is much debate concerning the factors used to make these determinations, including how the population demographics of the community served might influence their health and their attitudes towards healthcare. there was also great promise seen in how electronic health records (EHRs) might themselves lower care costs.
