Write a report as an advisor to the government of one southern periphery EU member state in relation to: Explanation of the theoretical basis for alternative exchange rate regimes and why these might change over time. Analysis of the historical trend/association of the exchange rate and (i) GDP growth (ii) unemployment over the period of eurozone membership (i.e.1999 onwards) to critically evaluate the factors influencing the decision to adopt a fixed or floating exchange rate. Choose a peripheral country i.e Cyprus, Italy, Slovenia, etc. Use a statistical tool ex: EViews, SPSS, etc. to do the data analysis and using those findings, critically evaluate the factors that influnce the adoption of floating or fixed exchange rate.
