By using color, Fitzgerald paints a picture of the American Dream during the 1920s. In various Harlem Renaissance poetry and music, Black authors express their own American Dream visions. By analyzing both The Great Gatsby and the Harlem Renaissance texts, synthesize a common American Dream theme. What do the texts tell us about the American Dream? What happens to an American Dream deferred? What does our current American Dream look like in color?

Your essay must contain an introductory and concluding paragraph, as well as three body paragraphs (5 paragraphs in total)

* Your essay must be formatted in proper MLA style and contain MLA-style in-text citations, therefore you need to include a works cited page.

* Your essay must include a creative title that reflects the topic of your essay. Each body paragraph should contain at least two quotations/passages from the texts.
