If the application is in the foreground it is delivered to the onMessageRecieved(). The FCM SDK automatically handles notification messages and they contain a predefined set of user-visible keys as well as having the capability of containing predefined set of user-visible keys. Data messages are always sent to the onMessageRecieved() no matter the state it is in. These messages can contain personalized user defined custom key-value pairs and are handled by the client application.
