What is it, i.e. bacteria, virus, fungus, or worm? How is it classified? Where is it found in nature? What trouble does it cause? Does it have a history? Be sure at the end of the introduction that you let your reader know what they can expect in the rest of the paper, i.e. What material or information you are going to present? History This section could include the damage your organism has inflicted on human societies of past or it may include up to date information of prevalence, distribution, mortality and morbidity. Details of biology and ecology and pathology, if relevant Somewhere in the text you will want to offer an in-depth look at the organism that includes a description of its morphology and basic biology, where it is found in nature and under what conditions (ecology), the pathology associated with disease in humans, how it is identified in the laboratory. Resist going into too much detail, just highlight the salient features (look up the word salient!). Prevention and Control measures This is fairly standard information to include. You might want to discuss the difficulties here, however.
