Should everyone go to college? In regards to new generation’s intended fields. I have decided to choose this topic because I have many family friends who have decided not to go to college and still have very successful careers. In the fields of coding and graphic design, which I will focus on more throughout my annotated bibliography. I will navigate this topic through 3 main points: Evolving Career Landscapes With rapid advancements in technology and industry, success is now normally viewed through adaptability and creativity with the use of their skills, which does not include the need of being refined by university education. A big point that I will make through this is the changing field of graphic design through the dangers of AI, which requires graphic designers to have creative skills that cannot be obtained through university. Value of Experiential Learning Real-world experiences, internships, and practical projects provide a hands-on understanding of industry dynamics. These experiences often contribute more directly to job readiness than a purely theoretical education. By placing a high importance on experiential learning, Gen Z becomes equipped with a practical skill set that enhances their employability and prepares them for the challenges of a dynamic workforce. (Coding) Alternative Education Models As the landscape of education evolves, alternative models are challenging the traditional university system. This encompasses various approaches that offer flexible, specialized, and often more affordable options for acquiring skills and knowledge. (Coding and Graphic Design) With this view I want to bring that the traditional path to success through university is being challenged by our generation, which will be relevant in our society since it will change the importance that future generations put on higher education.
